Die Einzelmitglieder bilden zusammen mit den Mitgliedsgesellschaften die Mitgliederversammlung. Diese ist das oberste Organ der Akademie und wird vom Vorstand einmal pro Jahr einberufen. Die Mitgliederversammlung wird von der Geschäftsstelle koordiniert. Die Geschäftsstelle ist die erste Anlaufstelle für alle Einzelmitglieder und fördert den Austausch innerhalb des Netzwerks.
Zu Einzelmitgliedern der Akademie können Personen gewählt werden, die Expert:innen in ihrem Fachgebiet sind und sich zugleich für die Ziele der Akademie und/oder für die technischen Wissenschaften besonders einsetzen. Die Einzelmitglieder werden nach einem besonderen Wahlreglement unter der Leitung der Wahlkommission in geheimer Wahl durch die in der Mitgliederversammlung Stimmberechtigten gewählt. Zu Ehrenmitgliedern der Akademie kann die Mitgliederversammlung Personen ernennen, die sich besondere Verdienste um die Akademie erworben haben.
Die SATW hat für das laufende Jahr 19 ordentliche Einzelmitglieder in ihr Netzwerk aufgenommen: Neumitglieder 2025.
