The SATW's specialist funding enabled the expansion of IAESTE's activities: a student assistant relieved the burden on the programme management and enabled more professional implementation, particularly in the intensive spring months. At the same time, the programme's presence at universities was strengthened.
Five-minute pitches in lectures are a tried-and-tested format that reach students who had not previously considered an internship abroad. Between October 2024 and November 2025, IAESTE was represented at 18 careers fairs - compared to ten in the previous year. There were also ten traditional information events and low-threshold formats such as waffle and information stands.
Collaboration with universities was also strengthened through renewed cooperation agreements.
In addition to the personal approach, digital visibility was increased through regular social media posts and information material on internal university platforms.
The commitment of the volunteers, who are involved in both the promotion and support of international students, is central to the success of the programme. Joint events, workshops and a newly developed handbook strengthen this network in the long term. Targeted further development is planned from 2026.
IAESTE organises paid internships abroad for students of technical and scientific disciplines. The SATW 2024/25 funding programme enabled an increased presence at Swiss universities and the targeted expansion of outreach.
