At SATW's annual networking event, around 30 experts from the member organisations came together for an inspiring exchange. The event centred on the topic of "Successful networks", which was explored in depth in a keynote speech followed by discussions and an interactive workshop.

The participants contributed their personal experiences and discussed together how networks can be strengthened in a targeted manner and utilised effectively. The open exchange emphasised the importance of cooperation for innovation and technological competitiveness. The following key findings were recorded from the first part of the event:

  • Technological competitiveness should be strengthened: In an increasingly fragmented world, the targeted expansion of resilience and innovative strength is crucial to ensure Switzerland's international competitiveness.
  • Early recognition and strategic foresight must be expanded: Systematic monitoring of future technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, biotechnology or energy makes it possible to identify opportunities at an early stage and minimise risks.
  • Talent is the key to innovation: education, lifelong learning and the international recruitment of skilled labour must be made more flexible and future-oriented.
  • Cooperation creates added value: around two thirds of member companies are already working together. There is further great potential for synergies, particularly in joint events, workshops and formats.
  • SATW is a platform and serves as a bridge builder: SATW promotes dialogue between science, business and politics and strengthens national and international partnerships.

René Hüsler, member of the SATW Board and responsible for the SATW member societies, hosted the event again this year..

SATW President Benoît Dubuis then presented the theme of the year 2026:
"Switzerland's technological competitiveness in a globalised world: anticipate, educate, promote innovation". As part of the annual theme, the SATW is involved in initiating and supporting national and international projects. Against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions, shifting economic centres of power and accelerated technological change, the SATW focuses on four key areas:

  • Anticipation: Strategic technological foresight
  • Educate: Talent and systems for the future
  • Innovate: Strengthening excellence and innovative capacity
  • Connect: International cooperation in times of fragmentation

The event ended with an aperitif in a relaxed atmosphere and offered space for in-depth discussions and networking.

The SATW would like to thank all participants for the lively exchange and looks forward to continuing the discussions in future dialogues and events.
