The future of production technology lies in advanced manufacturing. However, the complex nature of this specialist field demands close cooperation between different research organisations. This is why SATW set up its Advanced Manufacturing Research Alliance. The Alliance promotes cooperation between existing research organisations, focusing particularly on additive manufacturing processes and Industry 4.0.

Purpose and objectives of the SATW Advanced Manufacturing Research Alliance

The SATW Advanced Manufacturing Research Alliance aims to foster autonomous collaboration among existing Swiss research organisations in the field of advanced manufacturing. It focuses mainly on additive manufacturing processes and Industry 4.0.

The alliance aims to improve the range and rate of use of its partners’ existing research infrastructure, avoid or eliminate redundancies, and thus reduce operating costs.

The alliance also champions support for pre-competitive research and development in the field of advanced manufacturing in Switzerland. It seeks to raise awareness of the significance of these topics among business and government, and campaigns for increased research funding in this field.
