On Thursday, 16 October and Friday, 17 October, the French-Swiss selection committee of the "Hubert Curien - Germaine de Staël" programme met in Bordeaux. The meeting was organised by the "Service de coopération et d'action culturelle" of the French Embassy in Switzerland and served to assess the submissions for the 2026 call.

The meeting focussed on the scientific projects submitted. Eleven projects were selected and demonstrate the broad thematic diversity of the collaboration. They cover quantum research, energy topics, chemistry, immunology, sustainability in education and socio-economic issues, among others.

In addition to evaluating the projects, the programme also offered specialist insights: Astrid Bergeat presented her research on astrochemistry and collaboration with Jutta Toscano from the University of Basel at the Institut des Sciences Moléculaires. At the Floirac research forest, Sylvain Delzon presented the Forland project on the adaptation of tree species to climate change.

The SATW would like to thank Angeline Blanc-Serre, Samuel Randriamanantsoa, Régis Nyffeler, Jean-Louis Pazat and Edith Schnapper for their commitment and the constructive discussions on strengthening scientific cooperation between Switzerland and France.
