Review of the "Showing quick-wittedness" training course

How do you react confidently to criticism? This was the question that the training course "Showing yourself to be quick-witted", led by the dynamic Lucette Quarteron, sought to answer. Twelve women from various networks took part, including Juliette, former mentor of the Swiss TecLadies programme and lucky winner of our prize draw.

The training was organised as part of a collaboration between Swiss TecLadies, the Professionnelles en Environnement (FFU-PEE), the Réseau femme et sia, the Swiss Association of Women Engineers SVIN and Swiss Engineering Romandie with the aim of boosting self-confidence and developing concrete tools to deal with delicate communication situations - whether at work or at home.

Juliette looks back on this enriching experience:

"In this exciting course on repartee, Lucette told us many personal and amusing anecdotes while teaching us how to learn this all-important skill, namely the art of replying. In numerous interactive activities and in a friendly atmosphere, we acted out situations in which we lacked repartee."

In addition to simple communication tips, the participants covered topics such as dealing with feedback, conflict resolution and how to respond to inappropriate or manipulative comments. These sometimes sensitive topics were handled with goodwill and humour in an atmosphere of trust.

"We learnt how to deal with feedback, conflict, aggressive remarks and even manipulation! We also learnt how to speak and principles that are important to remember but easy to forget, such as loving yourself and Lucette's powerful quote: "My ears are not a rubbish bin!", which also means that you don't have to listen to everything that comes out of other people's mouths."

A formative course for Juliette:

"It was really interesting and I learnt a lot that will be useful throughout my life."

As part of the collaboration between Swiss TecLadies and its partner networks, further training courses for women are organised on a regular basis.
They are announced within the community and offer preferential rates for members of the participating organisations.
