On 1 July 2026, the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) will present the White Paper “Towards a Swiss EOSC Node” in an online event.
EOSC stands for European Open Science Cloud. It is a European initiative that aims to make research data, digital tools and scientific services easier to find, access and use. Its goal is to support open science and strengthen collaboration across countries, disciplines and research communities.
The White Paper outlines possible pathways towards a coordinated and interoperable Swiss approach to the exchange of research data and related services. It also highlights the potential role of a Swiss EOSC Node as Switzerland’s contribution to the European Open Science Cloud.
In addition to the presentation of the White Paper, Prof. Dr Thomas Schulthess from ETH Zurich, Director of the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) and Coordinator of the Swiss EOSC Candidate Node, will provide an update on the current status and future perspectives of the Swiss EOSC Candidate Node Switzerland.
