Tech Camp in Grisons empowers 39 girls

A week full of experiments, creativity and inspiration in Chur. This August, girls aged between 12 and 15 immersed themselves in the world of technology and IT during the Swiss TecLadies Camp 2025 at the Bünder Kantonsschule BKS. The project was generously supported by numerous experts and companies with the aim of promoting young female talent in the tech sector.

I think it's really cool to meet like-minded people who are all interested in technology and STEM subjects in general.

Ida (13), participant

From the surgical skills lab to drone control, from programming their own games to exploring a mine: the Swiss TecLadies Camp showed just how exciting STEM can be. Around 40 girls aged between 12 and 15 spent five intensive days focusing on technology, research and adventure, discovering the world of STEM at first hand.

Discovering the world of STEM together with the girls, trying out new things and empowering them to live their enthusiasm for STEM subjects was simply fantastic.

Nadja Reisacher (Smartfeld), workshop leader

The participants tried out surgical techniques at the AO Research Institute in Davos, learned about drone technology for avalanche monitoring, programmed robots and their own games in the Technik Mobil, visited INTEGRA Biosciences in Zizers and gained valuable insights from female role models. A highlight was the exploration of the Gonzen mine. At the end of the programme, the participants presented videos they had produced themselves to their parents, providing a visual review of the eventful week.

My daughter came home from your camp really excited and motivated! The day after tomorrow she starts at the cantonal school in the IT and communications department with lots of boys, and she was feeling a bit nervous. Now she feels stronger and full of self-confidence.

Mother of Zoé (15), participant

One of Swiss TecLadies' commitments is to raise awareness among girls and young women in their social environment. The aim is for families to see for themselves how versatile and talented girls are and how they deal with challenges in the technical field.

SATW would like to thank all the companies that supported the camp: Somebodyelse, GirlsCodeToo, Maxon, Faszination Technik, KI-KURSE, Smartfeld, INTEGRA Biosciences, Bündner Kantonsschule Chur, Hasler Foundation, WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF, AO Research Institute Davos (ARI), and the Canton of Graubünden.
