Restart of the Germaine de Staël funding programme: Impulse for research cooperation between Switzerland and France

Germaine de Staël 08:16

The Germaine de Staël funding programme continues its mission to strengthen scientific cooperation between Switzerland and France by providing financial support for research stays.

With a budget of CHF 4500 for Swiss teams and EUR 2400 for French teams per project and year, the Germaine de Staël programme offers a unique opportunity to support cross-border research initiatives. The funding is broadly based and supports all disciplines, from the natural sciences to the humanities and social sciences. The programme is open to all research institutions, which underlines the accessibility and diversity of research funding.

With this new call for proposals, the funding programme reaffirms its central role in supporting scientific cooperation between Switzerland and France and invites researchers to take the opportunity to advance their projects and initiate new collaborations.

The projects are selected by a binational committee, which pays particular attention to the scientific quality and relevance of the partnership. The programme is administered by the SATW on behalf of SERI in Switzerland and by the French Embassy and Campus France in France.

A survey conducted among participants in recent years confirms the positive impact of the programme on the promotion of long-term scientific partnerships and the development of innovative research projects.

Applications for the 2025-2026 funding period can be submitted until 15 May 2024.
