Science on the Move 2019
The nation-wide science competition is going into the fifth round in 2019! High School classes from all over Switzerland will battle it out in the lab and on stage for a top prize of a Science Week abroad. The program promotes and requires the skills of a creative group of high school students. May the best class with the most scientific curiosity and enthusiasm win!
The SimplyScience foundation, with generous support from Roche, is moving into the fifth edition of the nation-wide class competition “Science on the Move”. Participation in the competition is open to all classes one or two years prior to the Swiss Matura (in general 10th and 11th grades) of public high schools from all over Switzerland. The competition language is English. The competition is divided into two phases: Phase One (11 February–5 April 2019) will involve the building of a non-digital 3D model, attempting to explain a subject or a process out of the field of biology, biochemistry or pharmacy. The top 10 classes from Phase One will then reach Phase Two: the on-stage performance at the Final Event held at Roche in Basel on 24 May 2019.
The main prize is a Science Week abroad for the whole class which will take place from 8–14 September 2019. In addition, the other nine finalist classes will also receive fantastic prizes.
Application forms for the competition have been mailed to all public high schools of Switzerland in November 2018 and registration is possible until 18 January 2019.
