SATW promotes the
utilisation and development of technology for the benefit of society, and
supports similar activities in other organisations.
The SATW committees execute projects such as engineering studies and events on their own initiative, and
promote similar initiatives by other organisations within their specialist
areas.
To a small extent SATW
offers financial support. It is involved in technology awards, gives grants to its member
organisations to realize projects and events and promotes events organised by other
bodies. On behalf of the Swiss Department of Education and Research (SBF) SATW
awards special grants to promote cooperation between Swiss and French research
groups (Germaine de Staël programme).
