Many actions of "Nachwuchsförderung" in technical sciences take place in Switzerland without much coordination or sufficient synergy. The simple fact to know the existence of another actor in the field is not sufficient. The human factor is essential. For a correct understanding of potential links, collaborations, sharing of experience etc. it is important to see the other actors on the field, see the reactions of the public and to share experience with the animators.
The role of this project is to create the framework for this type of networking action within an event where "Nachwuchsförderung" takes place at large scale. A strong experience in this sense has been made during two years at the robotics festival of EPFL, Lausanne. While the main goal of this event is the communication with the public in general and with kids in particular, the event has shown a strong impact on networking between the animators. Several projects have been started by contacts at the festival and some projects have found financing sources during the same festival.
This project aims at exploiting this side effect and the platform of the festival to give the possibility to a large number of actors in the field to meet, see each-other in action, demonstrate tools and methods in real conditions, exchange experiences and plan collaborations. Stronger links and synergies between actors in "Nachwuchsförderung" in Switzerland shall be created. As a result, this type of activity could be improved in Switzerland by exploiting the existing actions and infrastructure.
